Derek RicePartner
Derek is a Partner of Rice Investment Group. As part of Rice Team, he led the proxy campaign to successfully elect a majority slate of director candidates to the board of EQT. Derek served on EQT’s Evolution Committee to execute on 100-day plan to transform EQT into a capital efficient and digitally enabled operator. Derek revamped EQT’s development strategy that has led to peer-leading results. Derek was previously the EVP of Exploration of Rice Energy. Derek’s geologic models pointed Rice to focus leasing and acquisition efforts into the core counties of Washington and Greene within the Marcellus, and subsequently the core of the Utica in Belmont County. Derek designed and managed Rice’s prolific geosteering team, and led insights into macro industry trends which were used for strategic positioning related to A&D, hedging, and OFS technologies.
