Toby is a Partner of Rice Investment Group. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of EQT Corporation (NYSE: EQT), the largest natural gas operator in the U.S. Under Toby’s leadership, EQT has reduced GHG emissions by 35% and achieved one of the lowest methane intensities of any natural gas producer in the world. Toby was previously the President, Chief Operating Officer, and Founder of Rice Energy before its $8.2 billion sale to EQT in 2017. Toby led Rice’s execution of its high-growth strategy, amassing a 250,000 net acre position in the core of the Marcellus and Utica. Toby’s data-driven approach to operations consistently delivered the best performing wells in the Appalachian basin. Toby also created Rice’s digital work environment which enabled effective collaboration and innovation, allowing Rice to continuously evolve and easily scale with fewer people and streamlined processes.
Toby currently serves on the board of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s American Energy Innovation Council and is a member of the American Exploration and Production Council’s Executive Committee. Toby has been a strong proponent of unleashing American energy to provide energy security and independence here in the United States and to our allies around the world, while also achieving our ambitious climate goals.
